Why verification emails do not arrive (and how to fix it)

The common reasons a confirmation email is late or missing

You submitted the form, the page says “check your email”, and nothing arrives. Missing verification emails are frustrating but usually simple to explain. Work through this list in order.

1. Check the address you actually typed

The most common cause is a typo in the address. Re-read every character, especially if you generated a random disposable address and copied it by hand.

2. Look in spam and promotions

Confirmation mail is frequent and automated, which is exactly the pattern spam filters dislike. Check the spam folder and the promotions tab before assuming the sender failed.

3. Wait a moment, then check again

Many senders queue verification mail behind a job worker, so it can take a minute or two. If you are using a temporary inbox, keep it open — messages appear automatically when they land.

4. Do not request it repeatedly

Some services silently rate-limit resend requests. Ask once, wait, and only then ask again. Hammering the button can push you to the back of the queue.

5. Confirm the service actually sends it

A few platforms only verify by phone or SMS, or only send a code after a payment step. Read the page text carefully rather than assuming an email is coming.

6. Check whether the address is blocked

Some services deliberately reject disposable domains. If the form errors immediately, that is usually the reason rather than a delivery problem — see our guide to services that block disposable email.

7. Try a different address

If nothing works, generate a fresh address and start again. It is faster than debugging one specific signup.
