About Strong Password Generator
Create random passwords with control over length and character sets. The current generator requests a password from the TMPMailer server using your selected options.
How to use Strong Password Generator
- Choose a length — 16 characters or more for anything important.
- Enable uppercase, digits and symbols unless a site rejects them.
- Generate, then store the result in a password manager rather than reusing it.
Common use cases
- Creating a unique password for a new signup made with a temporary email.
- Replacing a reused password after a breach notice.
- Generating throwaway credentials for a local test environment.
Common questions
How long should a generated password be?
Sixteen characters with a mixed set is a practical baseline; twenty or more is better for email, banking and password-manager master passwords.
Should I avoid ambiguous characters?
Only if you have to type the password by hand on a device without paste. Excluding lookalikes such as l, 1, O and 0 reduces transcription errors.
Is the password sent to a server?
Your selected options are sent to the TMPMailer server, which generates and returns the password. Save the result in a password manager.
