Temporary email for developers: testing signups without a real inbox

Faster QA for verification flows, invite emails, and onboarding

Any feature that sends mail — signup confirmation, password reset, magic links, invites — needs testing again and again. Creating a real mailbox for every test run is slow and messy. A disposable inbox fixes both.

What you can test

  • Signup and email-confirmation flows.
  • Password reset and "verify it is you" links.
  • Transactional templates: layout, links, plain-text fallbacks.
  • Rate limits and resend behaviour.

A quick workflow

Generate a fresh address for the run, use it in the form, and read the incoming message from the Temporary Email inbox — no setup, no cleanup between runs. Need a clean slate? Generate another address.

Small tips

Keep the inbox open while you trigger the email; most confirmations land within seconds. Test the code path that handles a missing email too — real users mistype addresses more than you expect. And remember the address is public, so never send production secrets through it.

For end-to-end flows that must survive a restart, pair disposable addresses with a seeded fixture account; use the temp inbox for the throwaway checks in between.
