Why a disposable inbox fits an Activision signup
An Activision account is the identity behind Call of Duty HQ, Warzone, Modern Warfare, Black Ops and the mobile titles. It stores your Activision ID, friends list, battle pass progress and cross-progression links. Signing up takes a minute, but the address you use starts receiving promotional mail straight away. For a test account, a second-region profile or a one-off Warzone session, a temporary inbox keeps that traffic away from your everyday email.
Activision sends a verification email right after the form is submitted. It contains a confirmation link or a short code and normally arrives in seconds, which makes it a good match for a disposable address.
Step by step: creating the account
- Generate an address in TmpMailer and copy it.
- Open the Activision signup page and paste the address with a display name and password.
- Submit the form and switch back to the inbox tab without closing it.
- Open the confirmation link or copy the code into the verification prompt.
- Sign in at callofduty.com to confirm the account exists, then link your platform from account settings.
Where the temporary address stops being enough
Activision ties purchases, cross-progression and account recovery to the email. If you buy a battle pass, a bundle or Call of Duty Points, keep the login on a mailbox you will still control next year. Losing the address means losing password resets and two-factor codes. Activision supports authenticator apps as well as email codes, but recovery still starts with the address you registered.
Some regions and platforms add a phone check, particularly when a new account tries to play ranked or add friends. A disposable address does not bypass that step, and it does not lift a ban or bypass a security review.
Troubleshooting the verification step
- The email never appears: refresh the inbox after thirty seconds and double-check the address. Mail can be delayed during a new season launch.
- The link says expired: request another verification message and use the newest link only.
- Signup loops back to the form: clear the site cookies and try again, or use a normal connection instead of a VPN.
- Cross-progression is missing: confirm the platform account is linked on the Activision site, not only inside the game.
Privacy, bans and fair use
Using a separate inbox for a test account is a reasonable privacy step. It is not permission to evade bans, harass other players or create accounts in bulk against Activision's terms. Enforcement actions follow the account and the device, so a new email will not rescue an account that was banned for cheating.
Choosing the right inbox
For a weekend Warzone test or a second profile, TmpMailer is enough. For the account that holds your main progress, purchases and clan, use a permanent mailbox with two-factor authentication enabled. That single choice prevents most recovery problems later.
