How is age counted?

It counts completed years, then remaining months and days, following the calendar rather than a 365-day approximation.

Why does a leap-day birthday differ?

29 February exists only in leap years. Policies vary on whether to celebrate on 28 February or 1 March.

Does the time of day matter?

Not for a date-only calculation. For legal or medical purposes, confirm the exact local time.
